SYNOPSIS
SYNOPSIS
A Wolf and a Watcher: enemies turned lovers.
Their romance would shake the supernatural world to its foundation...
As a watcher, Gerwalta Faust allows werewolves no trust. Andreas Baron may be roguishly handsome and deceptively charming, but that makes him no less an animal. Thoughts at the top of her mind as they seek a missing member of Andreas's pack, and a constant reminder that her growing attraction is not only irrational, it's a betrayal to her kind. But how can she be true to her purpose if she is not also true to her heart? Andreas despises the women who rule the Black Forest with silver fists and dark souls, and having to sojourn beyond its borders beside a watcher hardly thrills. What does, however, is finding in Gerwalta a creature of compassion and intelligence, one who begins to look beyond his fur to see the man within. Could a watcher ever mate an alpha? Will his heart give him any choice? Even as they see out their mission in far-off lands, an immutable truth awaits at home: it's forbidden for a watcher and a wolf to love, and the punishment is death.
The complete trilogy of the tragic love between the infamous Red Riding Hood and the King of Werewolves.
Red Origins tells the truth about Little Red you've never been allowed to hear. Court politics, magical warfare, and a rebellion of the heart await the reader on an epic journey through the fairy tale you thought you knew.

Her cheeks blazed the same deep crimson as the color of her gown. “Are you threatening me, Igor?”
“I do not mean to threaten, only to remind you that you are in a unique situation. One I could assist you to resolve.”
She bit her lip, attempting to hide her fretting. “No, I will accrue no debt in this matter. Besides, where would we go, if not home? Forget the dangers to me, what will become of Andreas’s pack if I do not return? No, we…. We will return. I, to wed. He, to lead.”
“And your love for one another?” Karahan asked, lifting her chin. “Even if you survive, what of that?”
“What of it? It is impossible. I will convince my mother to force his paw, to arrange for his mating to another wolf, by force if necessary. And I will marry into a foreign line with haste. My would-be assassin only wishes to neutralize my ability to become Matron. I will leave the Schwarzwald by marrying into a foreign bloodline with haste, and Andreas will have a mate and a future.”
“Or….”
His sing-songy interjection drew hope into her eyes.
“Or what?”
“Or we make a new contract, one between you and me, and not you and your mother.” He pressed her cheeks between his hands. “I am a vampire of particular influence, Gerwalta. If you must marry, perhaps I can assure a sympathetic spouse, one that would allow you and Andreas to be mated, while maintaining the public illusion of a proper marriage. The laity royals do it all the time.”
“No house would ever accept a wolfsretter being with a wolf.”
Massimo, silent this long while, barked a laugh. “You’d be surprised.”
“I would?” she asked him before turning back to Karahan.
He withdrew his hands. “Would Andreas stand ready to pass down his command to another wolf and risk moon madness to pursue you? The journey will be long and dangerous.”
“I would do the same for him, if I knew it would mean we could be together.”
Karahan clapped and rubbed his hands. “Then we will make it so. But you must aid in this task. I cannot do it without you. My son and his generals must be stopped, for the sake of all dark ones everywhere. Do this for me, with me, and I swear that no harm will come to Andreas, and that after, you will have an opportunity to live your lives together.”
In an instant, the wolfsretter threw her hands around his neck and embraced Karahan.
With a firm jaw, she nodded. “If you can swear to this, then I shall find a way.”
